Happy Thursday

Friday, July 12, 2013

For a change, I’m not going to talk about my shitty feelings today, but rather how unusually pleasant my Thursday went.

THE COCO-UBE DUO
It has been my plan to arrange a date with each of my friends from high school, old friends from previous college, and close pals from afar. Luckily, I have implemented it and successfully fulfilled to reunite with almost every chum.

Since I was quite late for my 10am class, I decided to meet Karissa earlier than our scheduled rendezvous. We sat on the badly-painted brown metal chair at the Quadricentennial Park in school where we started talking about our guy best friends. Karissa, whom I call Ube since senior high, and I had a roller coaster of a confab—from platonic friendships to iPad apps to my zero love life to her bruises.

We had a few wacky poses, sizzling beefs, flashback stories, and coffee stuff (not to mention me third wheelin’).

THE FIRST OFFICIAL BROADCAST CLASS
Scared. It’s the best word to describe how I was after dating my girl friend and cutting my Sports Journalism class. The closer the clock’s hand approaches 6pm, the more scared I’ve become. (Partida, my Literary Criticism professor wasn’t around.)

Rumors say my Broadcast Journalism instructor is absolutely a terror one. Almost every former student of his said the same thing—nakakatakot siya.

It gave me goosebumps as soon as he entered the classroom. I was catching my breath, unable to feel my skin as my fingers began to be numb. My teeth seemed to wobble as I tremble out of fear. I didn’t even know what I was afraid of.

At the end of the period, everything turned out to be a little much of the opposite. Setting the pressure aside, I undeniably had fun in his class as I know I was able to learn a number of things right on the first meeting.

HAPPY 78TH, LOLA MANAY

Although we had petty fights sometimes, I am more than grateful to have her in my life. I couldn’t have been showy, but I truly mean that Lola Manay is very important to me. To her 78th birthday, cheers!

Despite Thursday being the worst day of my week, maybe it’s not bad to wish for a happy Thursday after all. Because who knows what will happen until you’re actually there?
