Just an observation: Materialism has dominated the 1990s generation since the 21st century.

I, myself, have been into the latest trends, advanced gadgets, fashion craze, etc. It feels a mixture of fulfillment and joy when something becomes my possession. It’s even grateful to have something to own something I’ve long wanted.

However, does the pleasure of owning something equate to the joy of having something abstract—e.g. quality time with loved ones?

I don’t think so. For a sentimental person like me, materials are not as valuable as they are to those who hunger for wealth. I appreciate spending time more than spending money. I feel worse wasting time than wasting money.

Materials, money, riches, and other luxuries would always come back when gone, time wouldn’t.
