33rd MIBF was My First

Sunday, September 16, 2012

It was last month when I knew about the 33rd Manila International Book Fair happening on September 12-16, 2012 at the SMX Convention Center in Mall of Asia.

I immediately thought of going to it and checked my planner when I could. My schedule this semester sort of sucks that I have classes until Saturday, which means Sunday was the only time I could allot for the MIBF. I then asked my mom if she could accompany me to that even. Sad to say, she disagreed attending the event on a Sunday, but she would allow on a weekday. So I rechecked my planner and estimated what day I could miss. Having one 3-hour class every Thursday made me pick that day to skip for MIBF.

My sister concurred to come with us on Thursday, September 13. Everything went according to plan—fetched her after her “forms”, then drove to MoA afterwards. Spent half day at SMX and bought about five books with discounts and freebies.

Happily brought home Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, Don’t Sweat the Smal Stuff...Omnibus by Richard Carlson, and Speak with Power and Confidence by Patrick Collins from FullyBooked, The Other View Literature, Culture, and Society by Elmer Ordoñez from University of the Philippines Press, and Lovestruck Singles Edition from OMFLIT Inc.

What made the event extra special was that it escaped me from the pain I was recently attacked by and that this 33rd MIBF was simply my first. ☺
